    What is a tongue cleaner?

Tongue cleaners are a device that has been designed for oral hygiene, whose fundamental function is to eliminate bacteria lodged in the tongue, as well as remove all food residues, possible fungi and all dead cells found in the tongue.

    .

Why should you use a tongue cleaner?

The tongue is the first line of defense of the immune system. It is an organ of vital importance in oral health, but also in general. Situated between the inner world and the outer world, it has a direct connection to the digestive system, especially the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine.

    .

For Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, the layer that covers your tongue reflects the health of your digestive system. A healthy tongue has a pinkish hue covered with a thin whitish coating, however an unhealthy tongue will be covered with a thick yellow, white or gray coating.

    .

Every night the body detoxifies and leaves the toxic material on the surface of the tongue. An unhealthy tongue is the product of the accumulation of a large amount of waste, toxins and bacteria.

    .

This can generate: Halitosis (bad breath), Gum problems, Increased predisposition to tooth decay, Poor digestion, Little sensitivity or inflammation of the taste buds, General health discomfort

    .

    Which benefits does it have?

    • Eliminates bad breath. 90% of halitosis problems are eliminated with a simple daily cleaning of the tongue with a scraper.
    • It's easy to use.
    • Antibacterial properties. The tongue cleaner is the perfect tool to remove the white layer of bacterial flora that forms on the tongue. Large amounts of debris and bacteria accumulate on the tongue.

    How should it be used?

It is recommended to carry out the hygiene of the tongue once a day and if possible in the morning.

    .

During the night we don't talk, we don't eat and we barely salivate. By not producing as much saliva, a liquid that our body generates naturally and that keeps our mouth clean, bacteria accumulate to a greater extent and roam freely on the tongue.

    .

In the morning we have a high concentration of germs in our mouths (that's why when we get up we usually have the sensation of bad breath) and this is the best time to attack them. It doesn't matter if you do it before or after brushing your teeth, but always in the morning.

    .

To use your tongue cleaner follow these instructions:

    • Stand in front of the mirror and stick your tongue out of your mouth.
    • Hold the tongue cleaner firmly and recover the entire surface of the muscle from the inside to the outside; remember to always do it in this direction to carry the residues towards the outside of the mouth.
    • Bring the cleanser as far back as possible for extra cleanliness, but always feel comfortable and not gag. You will see that as you use the tongue cleaner for several sessions, you will be able to place it in a deeper area of your mouth without feeling discomfort.
    • Repeat the action three to four times, rinsing the tongue cleaner with water after each stroke to remove any dirt that has been removed.
    • Wash it once you have finished, and keep it next to your toothbrush so you never forget to use it in your oral cleaning routine.
